Driver killed in Superior bridge plunge

SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) — Police tell a motorist has died after his vehicle plunged from an icy bridge in northwestern Wisconsin.

Authorities a 60-year-ragged driver died Monday morning when his vehicle went over a railing on Belknap Avenue-Toll road 2 viaduct in Superior and crashed about 35 toes under.

Police tell the motorway became ice-coated and slippery at the time of the rupture about 8 a.m. The Wisconsin Declare Patrol is investigating.
