Immigrant held for more than 7 months released

DOVER, N.H. (AP) — An Indonesian immigrant held for extra than seven months by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Contemporary Hampshire has been launched.

Etty Tham, of Portsmouth, became detained final spring at an immigration checkpoint on Interstate 93 come Lincoln. She had been held on the Strafford County Home of Corrections since June.

Tham entered the U.S. in 2000 or 2001 and overstayed a vacationer visa. A petition for asylum became denied.

She told Foster’s Day-to-day Democrat on Friday when she became launched, “I’m very tickled. I’m going to request my family. I miss my family.”

Tham has two grown daughters and has two grandchildren. Earlier this month, she lawsuit in U.S. District Court, inquiring for a overview of the “legality and reasonableness” of her federal custody and “civil, non-felony detention.”
